  • Yorick Brown: A twenty-something, unemployed, amateur escape artist with a good sense of humour. He'll need it to keep him going when he discovers that he is the last human male on Earth.
  • Agent 355: Agent 355 - her real name is classified - belongs to the mysterious secret group known as the Culper Ring. She is Yorick's bodyguard with a possible hidden agenda. She's very tough, yet compassionate.
  • Dr. Allison Mann: A brilliant scientist who may be the answer to saving the human race after the plague. She feels guilt because she fears that her experiments may have created the gender killing plague.
  • Ampersand: Yorick's male monkey and the only other creature with a Y chromosome who survived the plague.
  • Hero Brown: Hero is Yorick's older sister. She was a paramedic before the plague.
  • Beth: Yorick's girlfriend. She was in Australia when the plague hit and Yorick is trying to get to her.
