A simple 11 yr old girl who reads a lot, but she doesn't have the friends, parents, or books that an average 11 yr old might. Cornelia is a loner who reads dictionaries to make herself sound smarter to confuse her nanny and her mother. She is pressured by her mother who is a famous musician and sometimes she is even victimized because of it. But when a wealthy indian lady moves in with a strange sense of style and companian's Cornelia begins to love her life. She becomes friends with the lady and listens to her many stories.
