With his characteristic blend of cheer and pessimism, Vonnegut gives us a selection of essays and memoir to jar the jaded soul, to get the sap flowing again. He is the most humane of crotchety old farts, as he might describe himself....he will be sorely missed.

Easy read, but not what I was expecting.

One of those Vonnegut memoir-rambles with the familiar motifs: people are vengeful, stupid jerks, WWII, his odd Indianpolis family, etc. Hit or miss but in an enjoyable fashion: I laughed aloud a few times.

A "sequel" to Palm Sunday, this collection contains a mixture of autobiographical data and opinion pieces...which fans of Vonnegut know are always entertaining.

As an autobiographical miscellany, this book is a little unsatisfactory aesthetically. There is some very good material in this however--about mental illness, addiction. Vonnegut is a little hard to peg philosophically/religiously. Albeit, quite probably atheist, he is not scornful of everything religious.
