I became familiar with Vonnegut accidentally by one of my patients and after reading the slaughter... I I planned to read the other books of him. The earth quake is the best as I think, much fun, deep and simple.

If you love all of Vonnegut and are familiar with a lot of his work, this book is a lot of fun. I would not start a newbie to Vonnegut with thi book though. If you are unfamiliar with his "ticks" and "quirks" you might find the book a little frustrating. But it is a fascinating cap to a long and wonderful heartfelt career. He has been gone since last year and I still miss him. I liked knowing he was in our world with us.
