  • Star (Beatrice): A young lady mourning her grandmother's death. Star has changed her name from Beatrice. She was named after her absent father's mother. Star has spent most of her life searching for love and acceptance from her mother. Star's mom has told her how her dad just up and left when she was just a baby and wanted nothing to do with her. It seems that her mom didn't want much to do with her either, often sending her to her grandmother's for an extended visit. But Star didn't mind, this was the only place that she was loved.
  • Emma Yoder: An Amish Widow. Not only is Emma missing her husband, but she is worried that she is taking to much from her family and is looking for a way to supplement her income. She decides to give Quilting lessons to people in the community, but is surprised at the ones who show up.
  • Paul: A widower trying to raise his 9 month old daughter by himself. His wife had started a quilt for their daughter and now he is looking for someone to finish the quilt.
  • Pam Johnston: Married to Stuart and having marital problems. Their counselor suggested they do what the other likes to bond. 2 Children.
  • Stuart Johnston: husband to Pam. Tends to have a big mouth; rude and not well kept. 2 Children
  • Ruby Lee Williams: Wife to a pastor for a community church.
  • Jan Sweet: A big biker guy with a tough exterior and a soft heart.
