Not for someone who is looking for a repeat of Kitchen Confidential. This book traveled a different path, and what a fun ride! Tony's authentic perspective shared by most Chef's I have known, really rings true to those of us who have slogged through shift after shift on a dinner line, and he takes that attitude around the world. I have never wanted to travel to Vietnam more than after reading this book!

Great reading for anyone interested in food or travel -- especially for those who like to combine the two passions. Naturally a lot of things Bourdain tries sound disgusting, but that's to be expected in an adventuresome gourmand's writing -- especially if the gourmand is a punk rock chef like Bourdain.
