Sometimes a book comes along that buries an idea. This one did that to strategic planning, which Mintzberg argues is an oxymoron since strategy cannot be planned because planning is about analysis and strategy is about synthesis. This is why the process has failed so often and so dramatically. A compelling argument backed up with enormous empirical evidence.
