  • Seraphina Dombegh: A 16 year old girl who is daughter to a lawyer named Claude Dombegh. She is a gifted musician who works as assistant to Viridius. She also has great knowledge about the dragons and helps Prince Lucian in his search for the revolutionaries.
  • Phina: Nickname given to Seraphina by Princess Glisselda.
  • Mikey: A member of the Queen's guard

  • Earl of Apsig: A nobleman new to the city. Seraphina has her doubts about his motives

  • Imlann: Orma's father, a rogue dragon who was banished for his refusal to get rid of his hoard.
  • Claude Dombegh: Seraphina's father and lawyer for the Queen.
  • Abdo: Nicknamed Fruit Bat by Seraphina, he is not only one of Seraphina's grotesques but a real person.
