“Ethan is back from the dead and he and Merit are hot on the trail of Mallory. She is after the book in which she believes evil is contained. Mallory is obsessed with equaling out good and evil so her power won’t be so painful. Merit and Ethan’s trip become more complicated when the mayor of Chicago releases Seth Tate from prison and he is after the book as well. Tate ultimately becomes a greater threat than the vampires of Cadogen house were prepared for. The GP is still a thorn in the side of the Cadogen house and it seems that the GP are coming in with ill intentions.
I found Biting Cold a great and engaging read. Merit seems to really come into herself. Ethan’s character shows he still needs improvements…he still has room to grow with his romantic issues with Merit, but Merit faces what Ethan throws her way and still faces her responsibilities while her heart aches for Ethan. Mallory’s turn to the dark side is definitely over shadowed by another major character that’s heritage was a big shock for me. There were unexpected turns and some really great action. I have to admit, I missed Jonah and am looking forward to his interaction with Merit and Ethan. I also can’t wait to see were this GP situation is going to lead and what role the Guard is going to play. All in all, Biting Cold was another great addition as # 6 in the Chicagoland Vampire Series…wasn’t my favorite and I was very concerned the direction of this series after #4 startling events, but it seems my concerns were for not and wow, Chloe Neill new exactly were she was going. I’m giving Biting Cold 4 out of 5 stars.”
