“At the age of seventeen, a girl who goes by the name of Ismae, leaves the cold comfort of her father and is taken in by the welcoming clutches of Death, her new master. She found herself being trained in the deadly game of death, becoming a beautiful, deadly, and capable assassin and handmaiden of death. She is sent off with the Lord, Gavriel Duval to work alongside him for a period of time. She never believed she would fall into the deadly clutches of love with the man she hated. While working for Death, she learned many things and had to go against her orders to do what she thought best.
Robin wrote from Ismae’s perspective with great description. You felt what she felt each word you read off the paper. From the moment I picked up this book, I couldn’t set it down and had to tell all my friends about it. He perfectly grabs the attention of the reader and displays each character perfectly. He can make you hate or love the character within a moment. I would easily read this again and cannot wait to read the sequel to see what happens afterwards.”
