“Too American, too war glorifying... Chris Kyle stroke me as a guy who enjoyed killing just a tad to much. His patriotism was just too tacky for my taste. Maybe because I'm Swiss?
The book is written in quite a limited vocabulary, even for me whos native language is Swiss German. Short sentences, a lot of jumps, breaks and story holes. The book ist kept in documentary style like "we went into the house, I saw a insurgent with an AK-74, I took him out". In between some infos about his marriage going downhill/uphill/nowhere/somewhere.
In my opinion he was quietly braging about killing that many "savages" all the time. I read in some other review that he was a humble guy. What??? He never saw his enemies as humans, in Chris Kyles mind every non-westener was just a savage or a dumb asshole. Well, fate has kept up with him, he died February 2013 from the hand of a fellow veteran. My condolences to Tarya, his wife. His death was the "coronation of Unfairness" towards his wife and children.”
“great view into Chris's experiences and those of his fellow Seals. Also gives you a great perspective on what he was doing to help fellow veterans when he was murdered.”

Kyle included excerpts from his wife which helped balance out the book and give a more emotional glimpse into the personal life of a battle driven soldier. Kyle will surely be remembered and missed for years to come. I hope to see more soldiers share their experiences in writing.”

Other than that this is a very big and long book that can be a very good read for any of my recommended type of group. The main character is a navy seal that talks about his time as a seal and going through everything he went through. he enlisted in sniper school and has the most confirmed sniper kills ever.”
