“Slightly disappointing: shorter than many of her earlier books. Plus, the big.identity.revelation was telegraphed from the very start. On occasion, I've felt that more of the Armenian-American community and characters was needed in the series, yet, this had more focus on Demarkian's home life, and still wasn't as good.
What I did enjoy was the skewering of gated communities and home owners' association members.”
“Gregor Demarkian is an interesting character and Haddam continues to develop her protagonist and the other series characters quite nicely. "Blood in the Water" may not be the finest entry in this line, and the solution is fairly obvious early on, but the plot moves along steadily. A new character - old George's nephew - enters in the final pages and hints at future appearances. ”travelingmamma wrote this review Sunday, April 15, 2012.
