Interesting and engaging dystopian stories. And while some parts seemed over dramatic, overall the story was so good I didn't care!

Very slow moving for my tastes. Have not finished it. Wondering if it's going to pick up or have a pay off someowhere soon.

Good book! Characters are well developed, story has an interesting premise. The people in this story live in an underground silo and only go out if they are sentenced to death. This is the book that made the news recently after the author had sold many thousands of ebooks on Amazon.com and a major publisher then bought the rights to the paperback and hardback versions, leaving the ebooks with the author.

This is not at all my usual read but found it totally captivating and really was able to imagine this new type of world and care about the characters. Science fiction for non science fiction readers !

A great book for those who like long books with many different perspectives. Has many characters however so beware of sudden headaches LOL

Really, really excellent. By far the most I've ever enjoyed a "post-apocalyptic" story. Lies, distance, love, connection, faith, death, life, this has it all.

Another dark story with a dark ending. Maybe I am just too easily bummed out but (right now at least) I would much rather read a lighter happier story or at least one with a positive ending. I liked that sort of stuff when I was younger. Stories like "The Lottery" were pretty cool and not as soul-crushing as they probably would be today.

Again, it is probably just me.

I quite enjoyed this book. In some ways a little derivative, but a nice couple of twists. Maintained some good pace.

A short-ish story that was absolutely gripping and very well told. Made me go ahead and buy the rest of the books in the series.

It intrigued me enough to buy Book 2: Proper Gauge immediately.
