I was extremely disappointed in this book. The description sounded so good, but the book was vastly different. The sentient glacier so prominently mention in the description took up 3 pages somewhere in the middle of the book. It would be like saying the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is...

This is a very hard book to review. Reading this book is like reading someone else's dream in that it's completely bizarre, it jumps around, it sometimes makes no sense, but to the person dreaming it all fits together perfectly. The writing was very good and the descriptions and phrasing were amazing. This book was very dense in the way it was written but at the same time was not an altogether difficult read. It's the type of book that is enjoyable but you don't necessarily want to read another just like it right away. You need a little time to really wrap your mind around it before getting into another really "good" book. I need a little bit of fluff reading before I choose another like this one.

This book was seriously very odd. A bit of Vonnegut mixed with Cloud Atlas and something else sort of peculiar. I can't even say if I liked it or not, but I finished it, which is not usually the case with books I don't like. Very weird. I can't even give it a star rating. It just... I don't even know.

Awesome. A perfect combination of outrageous writing talent and enthralling story telling. Oh yeah, I also had to stop and laugh out loud pretty often. Brilliant.

I was extremely disappointed in this book. The description sounded so good, but the book was vastly different. The sentient glacier so prominently mention in the description took up 3 pages somewhere in the middle of the book. It would be like saying the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is about a small dog swallowing a space armada.

The prose is wonderful, clearly showing Boudinot's talent. The pages turn fast. Still, the book does get a bit messy at times, which may be part of the point, or simply an indication of a little overreach. The fantasy is wonderful, but the sci-fi aspect of the fantasy seems pointless. It might have been even more fun to let go of science altogether. Still, it's a fine read.

A wild ride. Some pages were magic and some were insane. At times it really seemed to come together........

What an amazing accomplishment in appropriation. I can't say I loved it. No, I can't say that. But did it fuck with my head? Oh yeah. It did. And for that, I thank Mr. Boudinot from the bottom of my heartless soul.
