“The changing face of macro economics...not necessarily the most riveting read at face value. However, this book cuts to the chase; what can the "worker" do in the face of commoditisation and the end of "jobs for life" to ensure a long and fruitful career? There are never any silver bullets but this book at least draws the map, articulating the challenge and demonstrating solution. ”

So much so I'll probably re-read it to pull out more useful nuggets. The basic premise is that society and the education system turns out replaceable worker bees. To be an indispensable linchpin, one needs to create their own map and provide value by doing the work that isn't easily listed in a job description.”

He makes compelling arguments that ANYONE can be more than their job description, be more than a cog in a wheel; they can become indispensable. Linchpin brings together concepts from Godin's other works (the Dip, Tribes and Purple Cow) to explain how employees can focus on their strengths, be identified as an authority and lead from within. The book is motivating and certainly worth a couple of reads.”
