As always, Louis Sachar brings the best of the best to us. But the question is, best what?? Well I'll tell you, the best of humor and funny jokes!
The title is certainly a captivating title, the cover picture is awesome, the blurb gets you all excited, what more could you ask for??
Gary Boone, otherwise known as Goone has wanted to be a comedian for all his life. He just wants to make people laugh and just fit in. But when the talent show comes up, can he share all his funny jokes and have people laugh to it?? Will the nice and popular guy actually like him and talk to him??
I dunno, I guess it's up to you to find out... BY READING THIS AWESOME AND BRILLIANT BOOK!!! ”
“I have just finished the book “Dogs Don’t Tell Jokes” by Louis Sachar. I thought it was a really funny book. It was about a boy named “Goon” well that’s what people called him. He wanted to join the talent show telling jokes. But no one at school thinks he’s very funny. He really wants to show people that if they just listen to him that they would think he is funny. So we have to find out, will he make the talent show?
This book was pretty funny, I recommend it to someone who just wants to relax and just read a comedy and something less intense then most books. I thought it was very enjoyable, and I really liked that because most books I read are scary and intense and sad but with this book I could breath. I didn’t have to hold my breath threw out the whole thing.
The main character Goon, is not the one who is telling the story. But the writer I thought did a good job on making it sound like the story was about a 7th grader. It really does fells like its a 7th grader. Not a person saying what they think a 7th grader would do, but actually what a 7th grader would do. I really like that, Louis Sachar did a good job on that.
Over all I think it was a pretty good book. I would recommend it to most people. Out of 10 stars I would give it a 7. That is really high for me considering that this is NOT the types of book that I read.
