An absolute delight. Markus is a young, promissing writer. Not a happy happy story, but an amazingly told one. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Absolutley bizare look into the WWII as through the eyes of a German girl whose "step parents" are against Nazisim, a side I've rarley seen. Usually views from WWII are from a Jewish person, a Nazi, but this is a bit rarer. Really good book.

Simply riveting. A lyrically-written masterpiece by first-time writer Markus Zusak. I could not put it down. The story of Liesel Meminger was far and away one of the best books I read in 2009. It may have helped that I bought my copy at the Jewish Museum in Berlin.

To gain access to more books as an orphaned girl living with foster parents in Nazi Germany, Liesel turns to book stealing. As death and destruction rage outside, she, as well as her neighbors and a Jewish man her family is hiding, find comfort in the common language shared through her stories.

Awesome book. I love stories that take place during WWII. I gave it to my 16-year old niece to read after I finished it and she loved it too.

I'm not far into this book, but the narrator's death himself, which is something that is unique, and something i've never seen in a book, ever. The writing style is similar to Zusak's book, I am the Messenger, which I finished just weeks ago. Its not as thrilling as Messenger, and not as fast paced. It didn't really grab my attention, but I like it so far. Its about a girl during WWII who stole books. read on.

A beautiful, horrific, heart-warming and heart-wrenching tale. I highly recommend it, but keep those tissues handy.
