I loved the book. I love the idea of Death in the story. It isn't necessarily a bad thing and sometimes there are worse situations. This book was so good and I recommend to everyone.

Well, speaking about the main characters, especially Liesel, her foster mother and father, and to a certain extent, Rudy (who, in many ways, I liked better than Liesel), I think that they were extremely complex. They definately had flaws. Sometimes they made wrong choices. Sometimes, there were deep-seated personality flaws. Sometimes their motives were flawed. But, the main characters were likable overall. So often, they were presented with almost impossible choices thrust upon them by the Nazi government and bigotry and the collective mind.

Getting through this book pretty quickly. Very, very good. Great book for either adults or young teenagers before they read Night or the Diary of Anne Frank.
