“Ok, the book leaves it open and doesn't say who Liesel marrys in the end. When I read the book I just assumed that she married some random guy she met later in life, but my friend said that she assumed that she marries Max. What do you think? Do Liesel and Max get married?”
“I assumed that she married Max. I hoped so anyway.”
“I assumed that she just married some random guy too. I didn't even think of the possibility that it could be Max.”

“I think she did. in the flashes right before she died, she saw mama, papa, rudy and her brother, but it never mention max, making me think he was mentioned before (ie husband)”
