You simply must persevere! Myself and my friend both found it pretty hard to get into at first and I was going to give up, but I didn't and it was really worth it. Don't give yourself a hard time about it, take it slowly and I promise you it will deliver!

Even I found it difficult to get into - but after the first 70-80 pages - it will grip you. I ad it through the night. The most amazing, touching book on humanity - life affirming - about the good things which make us human - goodness and evil ...

Well if it is not right for you..don't read it! I felt the same way about the Dan Brown novels that everyone is gossiping out. "Ohh..he is SO good...you HAVE to read his work!" And I did. Guess what? I hate his style..pretty much everything about his books I hate, except for the historical truth of them of course. But just because it got an award you shouldn't read it!

I'm so glad to hear that other people are having trouble getting into this book. I am as well. Despite having a hard time getting into it there is something to it that keeps me reading.

Keep going with it - trust me it's worth it! One of the best books I have read, the start may be a little hard to get into, but keep persisting with it, and you will find how you get into it! I read the first few chapters over a period of about two days, but once I got into reading it further, I found I could not put it down! I was up until 3am in the morning finishing it. So keep going with it, but if you do find you still aren't getting pulled into it, then just put it down. Sometimes books don't work for everybody. Have fun reading! xx

I really loved the book. I just had to kind of catch on to where the author was going with it. You might not like the style, but it's worth it if you can just take it and run with it. But, never read anything just because it's an award winner. I've not enjoyed plenty of award winning books, but this one, I did.

This is amazing! The style can be disconcerting at first, but you'll catch into the story quickly. It's incredible once you get into it!!

Well, at first it was really hard for me to get into the book too. For me at the beginning it was very confusing and I didn't understand what was going on, but I kept reading it and as soon as I got to the first part of her story I loved it. Keep reading and remember that death is telling the story and at the beginning he's telling you about what he see's when he first see's the body's when their dead.
