“I was taken in with Elaine Littau's story from the first chapter of The Eyes of a Stranger. Elaine's descriptions made me feel as if I was right there in the 1800's watching the story unfold.
Gertie Brenan is rejected by her family only to be sent to meet her soon-to-be husband for the first time. He too rejects her. Gertie comes to terms with her situation and realizes she now has choices and a sense of freedom she never experienced before. Gertie's journey is one of love, sacrifice, honor, and kindness. You will find yourself captivated traveling along with the girl who has The Eyes of a Stranger!
