Description
When Jonas turns 12, he is singled out to receive special training from The Giver. Now, it’s time for Jonas to receive the truth. There is no turning back. Everybody has a role to do in the community when ever they turn 12 years old of age.

Summary
The Giver is about war fear and or pain. Jonas is living a normal life until he turns 12 years old and then he has to start doing stuff with the community. - Jonas: He is an 11 year old boy and is the protagonist of the Giver
- The Giver: Joans' guide to learn the truth and his teacher. He is the old man that is in the community and has held the community's memory for many years
- Jonas' father: He is a tenderhearted Nurturer who works with the infants.
- Jonas' mother: Works in the Department of Justice, very strong worker and gives her son advice when he is struggling. A pleasant women who has a important job at the department of justice.
- Lily: Joans' seven year old little sister, smart but a loud child. 7 year old sister and likes to talk a lot.
- Asher: Jonas' bestfriend. he is fun loving and is Jonas's best friend.
- Fiona: Mild mannered girl, Jonas' friend and the first girl he develops a crush on.
- Larissa: Old woman living in the House of Old, Jonas' gives her a bath during his volunteering service while they share a nice conversation. Is another friend of Jonas's and works as a caretaker in the house of the old.
- The Chief Elder: Ruler of the Community and seems to really care for the Ceremony of Twelve. The leader of the community
