Ugh!! I have never, I repeat never, been so annoyed with a character in all my life like I was with Kiera. Hate is such a strong word, but yeah, I hate her. She is such a selfish bitch. Yeah, that's right, I said it. Kiera, honey, instead of slapping other people in the face, you should slap the...

I enjoyed this book but I wanted the heroine to be stronger in her decisions. I attribute her weakness to be young and inexperienced. I will read the next book to see if she improves.

What a roller coaster ride! I need some time to process this. How do you write a review about a book so complexed?

    ***Detailed Review***

THOUGHTLESS has left me speechless. This book was pretty amazing with how twisted the betrayal became and the emotional roller coaster that is experience while reading.

Although I have no experience with either end of cheating, I feel that THOUGHTLESS portrayed the act of cheating realistic. The story felt like it was just going in circles at times and I would think that once one began cheating, their life would seem to be just a continuous cycle that is hard to break and Kiera certainly learns this first hand.

Kiera and her longtime boyfriend Denny move to Seattle, Washington for Denny’s prestigious job. They move in with Denny’s friend Kellan Kyle, rock star extraordinaire. Kiera plans to enroll in the local university for her last two years and everything should go smoothly.

That is until Denny is relocated for an unforeseen amount of time. Now separated from Denny, the attraction between Kiera and Kellan heats up and only continues to advance. Kellan’s there for Kiera during the split. He helps her with her job, starting school and the daily grind that leads them to becoming more than friends.

The affair between Kellan and Kiera is so layered and overall painful and hurtful to all involved. Kiera is torn between two really great guys. As a reader, sometimes it’s hard to understand the mixed emotions that a character feels, but I felt Kiera and Kellan’s anguish was very well written.

There’s no words that can describe the meat of this amazing story. The time Kiera spent with Kellan was amazing as well as when she was with Denny. Denny really was a standup guy who was so willing to do whatever he could to make Kiera happy, but in the end, everything fell apart.

The end was such a roller coaster. When Kellan began pressuring her to choose, I really felt that either one of them was fair game. For Kiera, the unknown scares her and that’s all Kellan is in her mind. A rock star who could have his pick of women. On the other hand, Kellan’s never had love in his life, but knew instantly that Kiera was the one. The doubt that Kiera shows makes Kellan fear he’s always second to Denny.

The night Kiera and Kellan are caught is the night she planned on leaving Kellan forever. In rage, Denny beats Kellan pretty severely and only stops when Kiera takes a kick to the head in place of Kellan.

Waking in the hospital, she learns she’s lost both Denny and Kellan as Denny’s going back to Australia and Kellan is too hurt by her choices to let her into his heart.

Months recovering with her sister Anna, who has an ongoing tryst with Griffin, only breaks her heart more. She’s lost the one guy who has her heart.

When Anna drags Kiera to the bar, she hears Kellan’s heartbreaking new song about lost love and more. Pushed together, they try to overcome the hurt they’ve each given out. Hoping to restart by dating, Kiera and Kellan take it slow and begin again.

Overall, the length hurt the story, but the love was there.

2.5 I don't really know what to say. It was times when I want to punch Kiera lights out! I really do hate people like her. I'm surprised that there is a sequel.

If you are one for a steamy, heart wrenching love triangle then this is definitely a book to read. The author does a great job with character building and keeping the characters true to what she has built them from.
Personally I thought it started out kind of slow. There was sometimes a little too much description that I started to skip over. The main character, Kiera, would make me roll my eyes or think "some girls just...". Kellan of course is the hotness, Denny not bad either.
I think the author really did a good job with what the content of the book was about. It's a rollercoaster of emotion from the characters and for the reader.

There was a lot of back and forth going on between Kiera and Kellan, and even though I can imagine the situation of forbidden attraction being extremely difficult this was at moments just quite painful (poor Kellan). And also, the idea that holding hands with someone else then your boyfriend is ok and just friendship, not even I'm that naive, what was she thinking? Nothing apparently, this is normal and never really pondered upon. Nonetheless this author is really talented and I'm curious enough to continue and give effortless a go too.
