This book is perfect, with all its imperfections. A wonderfully distorted mirror of real life, I believe that every person can relate to at least one part of this amazing story of adolescence, love, sex, drugs and growing up.

This book is YA Lit at its best...it is beautifully written with thoughtfully crafted adolescent struggles. What sets it apart is Charlie--his voice is so achingly authentic. I believe it is this authenticity with which YAs identify; every student I recommended it to loved this book. There is an ending I didn't see coming, but the twist wasn't forced or put-upon. I sincerely recommend this novel.

This is honestly a life changing book. It exposes the dangers of just sitting back and watching the world pass by, and encourages the reader to do something about their personal tendacies towards wallflowerness. Everyone can relate to this book in some way.
