“Flush” is a realistic fiction book by Carl Hiaasan. Two siblings, Nick and Abbey were in trouble. Their dad was in jail because he sunk the casino boat. He could be really impulsive and aggressive sometimes. He said he did it because the boat was polluting the ocean, he couldn’t stand it. Now,...

Not my favorite book, but I liked the message. Basically an environmental story about pollution. The main character sneaks around a lot, which is a bit disconcerting. I wouldn't recommend it to kids in elementary school, but I think middle schoolers would like the book.

Flush is a great book. I'd recommend it to all readers. The characters in the book flush all have a personality that differs from others. And while I was reading this book I always had a clear view of what they would be doing, or what they look like. I like this book a lot because it's about a dad, and two siblings trying to prove what was being done. They face many challenges, but at the end they give enough evidence so that the police would finally get what was happening.

This book is about two characters that take a stand for themselves, the environment and each other while facing a few problems. Young readers will be taken away by the plot twist and moral lessons. Through this lively chapter book readers learn about marine life and impacts on the environment .For this novel it would be great to have the students do literature circles that incorporate research projects to improve and deepen students comprehension of the novel and environmental awareness.

Before I began reading the book, the cover page persuaded me to read the book. I mean who doesn't get curious to a book that has a picture of a toilet seat on the cover? :) I liked this book because the characters' actions are undetectable, and funny sometimes. The main character's name is Noah, and he is really smart. This book really grabbed my attention because I felt a lot of same feelings as the main character. When he was mad, I was mad too. It required me to think also. I had to make lots of predictions and find evidences in the text. One thing I didn't like about the book was that the whole plot was kind of ridiculous. It would've been better if it was more realistic. But over all, it's an entertaining book to read because it contains lots of unexpected events. I recommend it to my friends who like to read about adventures.

Realistic fiction, action/adventure: the main character's father is arrested for sinking a boat. He says he did it because the boat's owner was dumping sewage into the ocean. Will anyone be able to prove he was right? Great for nature lovers.
