“Fishing is a sport that should relax you, unless you are a bass fisherman, judging from this fast paced story. Hiaasen once again lays bare his contempt for televangelists, developers, racists, and all things Floridian.”

“Odd characters, many twists. Not the best mystery, but it's entertaining. I like his writing, but I don't think this is his best effort. ”

“This was my first and favorite Hiaasen novel. Hiaasen is a consistently good writer - sort of reminds me of Elmore Leonard in that respect. Short, smart, funny, fast paced best-sellers that make a nice break from literary fiction.”

“ I think this is Hiassen's best novel, mostly because he sticks to an actual plot and doesn't go off on tangents. A lot of the best stuff in this book has been repeated over and over again in his other books. For the most part Hiassen just writes the same book over and over again but this is the prototype for them all. ”
