This book was a brilliant read and it was part of the curriculm for my English language subject, so it really helped out. I was surprised at how much i loved it!

Hysterical! I'm an English nerd, but I think lots of people would enjoy this book, or even a chapter (they would stand alone pretty well). This one seems to flow better than A Walk In the Woods, which was good but kind of preachy/tangential at times.

I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants! Yes, it is about the English language. It is that funny. Bill Bryson rocks!

This was educational without being pedantic. Bryson has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed his writing style. Who knew the history of the English language was so interesting?
