Didn’t Like It1 of 1 members found this review helpful “Amusing and sometimes hilarious, but not as interesting to me as the travel adventures like "A Walk In The Woods" which I thoroughly enjoyed. The perspective of an Anerican moving back to this country after 20 years is a very interesting point of view, and many of the observations were right on point.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Bill Bryson has been on my TBR pile for a while, and I'm glad that I finally picked one up. This book is a funny look at relocating to the United States after living in England for over 20 year and how things have changed. While reading it, I found myself nodding at things I take for granted, and it's just a very funny look at things we take for granted.”
“I like Bryson a lot, so I expected to enjoy this book. Still, I laughed out loud several times, at one time trying to contain myself so I wouldn't wake my sleeping husband. Even though the book is a tad dated (written in early 90s), it's an amusing look at American life and culture from an insider-outsider perspective.”
