  humour at it's best, excellent reading. i read the book on a train journey for two days, it was so funny, that i laughed aloud at times to disturb my fellow passengers..

  Bill Bryson is one of my favorite authors. His sense of humor is right up my alley! This book was especially enjoyable since he describes Americans and American culture from a "European" perspective, having lived as an ex patriot in England for some years as a journalist. I can relate to a lot of what he says, since I lived for 10 years in Germany.
