I was about a third of the way through this book when it dawned on me that it was written for young teens rather than adults. But at that stage I was quite a fan of August & decided to stick around to hear this story.

Wonder is the story of a young teen with severe facial disfigurement. Having been home-schooled all his life, he is about to start middle school & face a whole new level of interaction with the world.

Narrated by August, his sister, his best friends, his sister's boyfriend etc., this story told from a range of perspectives & priorities.

The simplicity of Wonder suggests that it was aimed at a young audience; but, despite this, it was a good read, a different kind of challenge.
