One of my favorite series of all time! The third book is best (in my opinion), but all are great! You have to love the posessed decapitated head!

Lewis has contributed more to my understanding of good, evil, temptation, and God's sovereignty than any other writer I've found in all my years of living in a library!

Among the fascinating elements in this trilogy is the progression in the role played by women, from minimal in the first, to central, but as acted on, not acting, and finally as a central cause of the outcome. A progression, carried futher in CSL's final novel, Till We Have Faces, in which he speaks in the voice of the woman protagonist.
