excellent crime noir story. BMB is a very good writer, and this book set the tone from page 1 and never let up. The art is right there with the story in terms of grittiness as well.

Eliot Ness and his colorful gang of THE UNKNOWNS chased this killer through the underbelly of Cleveland for years. As far as the public was concerned, he was never captured. Also included is material never seen before and a photo essay of the actual murders.

This was kinda cool, but towards the end there got to be too many characters to differentiate in simple black and white drawings. It was neat how a lot of the backgrounds that were actual photos, some of them from the crime scene of the 30's. I think I am threw with the graphic novels for this year, though, lol.

This is a good story. And that it is in black and white just adds to the ambience. I'm usually biased towards colored pictures.

Some wonderful dark pen work here, almost as black as Mignola's, and a story that is the real thing--Cleveland's horrific torso killer was real and Elliot Ness's response to the murders in the end destroyed his career. It's a fascinating story, and Bendis and Andreyko do it justice here.

Beautiful black-and-white noir artwork tells the true story of the detectives (including the infamous Eliot Ness) who investigated the Torso Killer, a serial killer who stalked the downtrodden in Cleveland during the 30s. It looks and reads like a 30s gangster movie, except a whole lot grittier and very grisly. The story sucks you in, though the ending, true to the real story, leaves you outraged.
