TV reporter Tiel McCoy is driving to New Mexico for a well-earned vacation when she hears the news on the radio: The teenage daughter of Fort Worth tycoon Russell Dendy has been a kidnapped. Immediately, she abandons her holiday plans to chase down what could be the scoop of a lifetime. But in a town called Rojo Flats an innocuous stop at a convenience store thrusts her directly into the dramatic story--and a dangerous drama. For inside the shop two desperate young lovers are holding a half dozen frightened hostages. During the standoff Sabra goes into labor. With the help of the man named Doc, Teil and him deliver the baby girl. During which the two fall in love.

  • Tiel Mccoy: TV reporter who was on her way to Mexico for vacation when she heard about Sabra being "kidnapped." She has been working non stop to make up from the time her dead husband never had to live.
  • Doc: One of the hostages. Known to the locals as Doc, his real name is Bradley Stanwick. He was a cancer doctor but he quit when his wife died from cancer.
  • Ronnie Davison: Sabra's boyfriend. Was accused of kidnapping Sabra when in realities the two ran away.
  • Mr. Calloway: FBI agent hired to find Sabra.
  • Sabra Dendy: Daughter of a real estate tycoon. She ran away with her boyfriend, Ronnie because she was pregnant.
  • Dr. Cain: "Doctor" who comes into the convenience store to "help" with the delivery. An idiot.
  • Donna: One of the hostages. Cashier/clerk at the convenience store that Robbie and Sabra hold up.
  • Katherine Davidson: Robbie and Sabra's daughter.
  • Russell Dendy: Sabra's father. Real estate tycoon.
  • Gladys: Vern's wife. Old woman on her honeymoon. One of the hostages.
  • Vern: Gladys' husband. Old man on his honeymoon. One of the hostages.
  • Juan: The man that Teil calls one of the Mexican hostages. His real name is Martinez.
  • Cole Davison: Robbie's father. He told his son to go to him if he ever needed help.
  • Kip: Teil's cameraman for the TV station.
  • Dr. Giles: One of the real doctors who waits until Katherine is released.
  • Two: The man that Teil calls one of the Mexican hostages. His real name is Huerta.
  • Gully: Teil's boss at the TV station.
