“The Truth Will Come Out
I am not sure if this book is based on personal experiences or not, but I will say this is a story I have read many times before. There was nothing unique about the naive younger woman who believes the sun sets and rises with her man. Gabrielle puts all her trust in Tre' and time and time again he disappoints her. I followed along to see if she would ever wise up.
Love is not supposed to hurt, or so they say. When you love the ground he walks on, you will accept anything he sends your way. So is the case with Gabby. Tre' could do no wrong. I spent my time wondering when she was going to get a clue. Please don't misunderstand me I know this happens every day. Hell, I've been struck by the love bug too. I have some things in my past I'm not so proud of that I accepted. My disappointment is that nothing in this book was new and fresh, coupled with the timeline not always being clear and concise. Some facts seem to be forgotten, one day she’s struggling and going to school, the next no mention of school.
This wasn't a long book which I'm glad of. I found it all too predictable. I had to laugh a few times as Gabby talked directly to readers, asking questions she already knew the answers to. I will say the story is well written just unfortunate it had no twists and turns.
