I adore this series, and these characters. I've re-read them so many times I could almost tell the stories by heart. They do tend to get a little preachy at times, and sometimes the believability quotient drops because of it. But the details are so vivid and the characters so enjoyable that I can...

I adore this series, and these characters. I've re-read them so many times I could almost tell the stories by heart. They do tend to get a little preachy at times, and sometimes the believability quotient drops because of it. But the details are so vivid and the characters so enjoyable that I can forgive its flaws.

Good book, lots of excitement, but if you're going to read it, read the first book or it won't make sense.

    Once upon a time,
a little girl whose family consisted of merchants
    got dumped,
then a magician known a niklaren goldeye (or something like that)
picked her up and brought her to the winding circle community
    of magicians
    and all that good stuff,
where she used her storm abilities to utterly own the attacking pirates.

This book is fiction from medieval times and always has something to appeal to a reader. Everyone loves this book.

Slightly boring, and a bit disappointing compared to her other books.

The second book in The Circle of Magic, everyone is still cleaning up after the earthquake and Sandry, Briar, Daja and Tris are still discovering their new magics. REally good, you learn a bit about Tris, and the four become better friends. Tamora Pierce is my favorite author, and this book is a great sequel to the first.
