“Surprisingly, the Kel quartet is my favorite - Neal is wonderful, and his sarcasm and humor is perhaps the best I've seen, excepting J.K. Rowling, who, in my opinion, is unrivalled in comedic dialogue. I also appreciated the more extroverted form of feminism found here, coupled, of course, with the blatant sexism. And the fact that Kel does not have any magic in a world that is almost completely dominated by it really appealed to me, as it helped me identify with her more. Great read.”

“Keladry of Mindelan is off to Corus to start her training as a Page, but the training master has a surprise in store for her. She's required to go through a trial year and if she makes it through and passes the tests she will be on her way to her shield but if not, she'll have to head back home with her dreams smashed.”
