This book is based in the same land as the song of the lioness books but is 200 years before Alanna. This is a very good book and i can't wait to read the second book.”

She is assigned the most treacherous watch in the most dangerous part of town, but fortunately for Beka it's the part of town that she has spent her whole life in. So when people start to go missing Beka and her trainer Dogs put Beka's well placed sources to use and may be able to put a halt to the sinister plot before it's too late.”
