“Tris Potter, as she is now known, has chosen her path. She is now one of the leaders of a revolution. The government was not all it seemed to be. This book delves deeper into the idea motives and the interplay between cause and effect. Intriguingly, we are also exposed to the realm of loyalty. Veronica Roth’s sequel to Divergent is equally absorbing and thought provoking as the first book of the series. The best thing about Veronica Roth’s books is that she instigates thought and reflection about the characteristics of society as a whole. ”Lisette wrote this review 7 days ago. “Tris's world is crumbling around her. Her mom is dead, and the world as she knows it has ceased. She and her group of followers must infiltrate the Erudite to protect the other Dauntless like herself. But what does it really mean to be dauntless, and will Tris truly be able to escape her selfless abnegation roots. Or will they bring her to an early end. Read to find out. ”David B wrote this review 8 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“I definitely love the characters in this series. I appreciate the relationship dynamics that are more restrained. With all that said, I found myself not quite as glued to the page as I was for Divergent. Normally when I am done reading a book I can tell exactly what I think about a book and why I feel that way. I can't quite put my finger on it this time. All I can say is that I love the characters, it is a very well though out book/plot, but I found it easier to put it down at night and turn off the light to sleep instead of reading all night.
I have a feeling this review has more to do with a turkey hangover than anything else!
This review is written in the unwavering, non-emotional, and completely logical female opinion.”

So far, the series is retaining its suspensive style it had in the first book. The second book is also maintaining the humor that made the first book just that much more fun to read. In particular, I liked the part where the Amity officials drug Tris. In this part we get to see how she acts with a personality opposite of her own. The book starts off pretty slow though, compared to all the excitement that the end of the first book had in store. The excitement starts to pick up when dauntless traitors raid the Amity compound, and will hopefully continue throughout the book.”
