Didn’t Like It“Least favorite of this series. Instead of the story of Hart and Eleonor's romance...it becomes about Hart's journey to stop being a controlling idiot. Just not what I'd hoped for in the finale of the series. Disappointing.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Perhaps for others, the politic part might be not so much but to me, it was. It was understandable as Hart was a politician but aren't this book supposed about romance between Hart and his Eleanor? I would prefer that most the times Hart busy with his politic career would be spent on winning Eleanor back to be his truly.
I was glad this one had a little bit of action pack. It was interesting to read that got me curious all the way. The romance between Hart and Eleanor was mild but I liked it best when both of them alone, taking pictures. I don't know why but I found that whatever Eleanor did to make Hart smile and amazingly laughing, it was heartwarming. From Eleanor's descriptions, I could almost imagine and see Hart's expressions in photos.
Hart was hinting he is a man with dangerous desire. At one part when Eleanor asked him to tell her everything, I was certain he said it didn't involve with any pain whatsoever, just wanting to earn one's trust. In Eleanor's case, her trust but in my opinion, he just wants to dominate, alpha guy that he is. However, it was otherwise in Ian's story (Book 1). Anyway, whatever as long as Hart's finally found his happiness and no more political shit.
Oh, one more thing, aren't Fellows should be in family portrait too? Why couldn't he get his full story instead of short one (Book 5.5)? Even though he's an illegitimate, he's a Mackenzie too, by blood. So not fair.
Ainsley's brother Elliot McBride sounds interesting. The excerpt was so fine I just couldn't wait to grab it sooner.
Recommended.”
“Love this, but it's not my favorite of the series”

This was probably one of the best in the series, even tough the others were also awesome. Loved to see Hart fall hard! Eleanor is just sweet. I hope to see more of these characters in the future.”

Enjoyed all the Mackenzie men and can't wait to read more about their family. Wonderful story by Jennifer Ashley.”

Highlights include Eleanor's feisty and independent nature and the insights into Hart's personality and how he grows and changes throughout the book.
The plot, however, has certain problems as it revolves around three issues (the photographs, the Fenian plot and Hart's darker sexual needs). All have potential but none are resolved well.
The next book is Elliot McBride's (Ainsley's brother) but I am also looking forward to Daniel's and maybe Fellowes will also get a HEA with Isabella's sister, Louisa. Time will tell. ”
“I had high hopes for this book. All others mentioned Hart's bedroom activities as being on the dark side, he liked kinky things, etc. The sex scenes that we get between Hart and Eleanor are actually pretty lackluster. I expected more.
That being said. I loved the two characters and enjoyed their relationship. I really liked that we got to see a lot of the relationship between Hart and Ian. That was really well written.”
