I enjoyed the first part of this book so much. I wish she had continued on with him being blind for a while longer, but on the other hand I can see why she didn't. I did like this book. But I hated to see how he gained his sight and suddenly he was a bossy man again. Once it got past a little where he gained his sight back I did come to enjoy it altogether in the end.

Love is blind, but not too many authors write about it. I'm glad she didn't strive to cure blindness because then I would have been upset that characters all have to be flawless to be loved. It was a refreshing read.

I returned this book to the library before I had written my review and it took some real sleuthing to figure out who the author and what the title was. I was sure that I had read this author in the past year. I have read most of Dodd's Governess Bride series and I thought I had read one this past year. Guess not.

This book is the first of an earlier series that Dodd has written. It appears that the book was first published in the early 90's. This novel found me at exactly the right time. I read romances for the love relationship, some humor and lots of escape. In the book Christina Dodd gave me all three. I would recommend it to any one looking for a way out of our present, stress filled world.

I fell in love with this book, just as the two charecters fell in love with each other despite them not being able to see how the other looks like, which shows the meaning of true love
i do recommend this book .. it is one of Dodd's best work ^^

Christina Dodd decided to write a book after the birth of her daughter in 1980. After ten years of writng, she had 3 books written. The first two manuscripts were rejected. But Dodd had luck with the third "Candle in the Window".Which won The Romance Novels of America Golden Heart Award for unpublished authors in 1990. It later won the Rita Award after its publication a year later in 1991. This book is set back in Medieval England . Saura the main Character is a blind women who for years lives with her not so nice stepfather Lord Theobald, after her mothers death. One day her life is flipped upside down when Lord Peter of Miraval ask her to help his son Sir William a night who had recently became blind after a fight with a local. Saura agrees to move in & help him along with her servent Maude who is more like a mother to her & her half brother Clare.Saura Promises Lord Peter that she will not revial to Sir Wiliam that she too is blind. So she goes along with the lie of her being a house servent who has training with the blind.Sir William & Saura end up falling in love.Sir William later regains his sight and learns thats Saura is blind. That does not stop his love for her and they end up together in the end. This book has taught me that true love conquers all.Even though they both were blind they fell in love, not caring what each other looked like becausethey were blind, but for who they where as people. I wish people were more like this, because in my opinion life is so much easier with out such judgemental people. I reccommend this book to anybody who loves with their heart and not their eyes.
