God becomes self-aware, only to find itself questioning the nature of its own existence. After discovering creation (which initiates the Big Bang), God decides that the answers to all questions must lie in life. Humanity becomes God's pet project, despite the people's self-destructive nature. After a particularly bad war over varying religious beliefs, God decides to intervene personally, and comes to the people in the form of three boys and two girls.

The five each are the embodiment of a different charateristic of God, but their presence defies the teachings of the religious leaders in power. Desperate to disprove the prophecied five's rise to authority, the religious Elders convince the people that the five are devils sent to test their faith.

The clash that ensues results in provocative commentary on fundamentalist religions, dogma, and abuse of power.
