Tin Win was born on an astrologically unlucky day and misfortune, as well as granduer, was forcasted for him. When his father dies and his mother abandons him, Tin Win is taken in by Su Kyi. Later he is stricken blind. He meets Mi Mi, a beautifull crippled girl, and they become friends. As they age, their friendship turns to romance. When the begin to consider marriage, Tin Win's distant uncle takes Tin Win to get his eyes operated upon. When the cataracts are removed, U Saw continues to take charge of Tin Win's life.
