There is two plot lines in this book. The first plot line is about a girl named Melody who lives in Beverley Hills and pretty much is living in her sisters Candice's shadows. She has a big nose and in her school they call her Smellody and she was bullied and made fun of. Her Dad is a plastic surgeon and fixed her nose not for a better appearance but also because she had asthma. She convinced her family to move somewhere else rather than Beverly Hills they moved to Salem a small town with a very different way of living than in Beverly Hills. She meets her neighbors and she is very fond of this guy named Jackson. Later on in the book he ends up having blackouts and split personalities he brings the two different characters together.

The other character is named Frankie the daughter of Viktor and Viveka. She is considered a RAD which is a nicer version of saying shes a monster. She trys going to school with normies and hides her green skin with a ton of makeup. In the end she realizes why does she have to hide if normies and RADS are living together in peace. THere is really no reason why they are hiding. There is a group of RADS in Salem actually and Normies arent fond of them or what they call, "Monsters".

In the end Melody and Frankie meet, because of Jackson. He is a RAD too his trait is having two different people in the same body. Jackson likes Melody. But the other side of him really likes Frankie what he calls her "Firecracker". This book was really fun and entertaining. It will be great for people who like reading about school and the obstacles of fitting in as a new girl. Frankie and Melody share that. They both are new in Merster High, or what the students call it Monster High.
