“The infamous Greg Heffley is at it again in this recent installment of the best-selling series “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever.” In this interlude, matters for Greg have turned a toll as his life gets problematic by the minute due to some minor problems, but when minor problems escalate to major problems; things get rough. It’s only November and Greg is already getting worked up on whether he will be put on Santa’s naughty list, but that’s not the only thing he is getting worried about. Greg has an addiction, an addiction with online pets. The problem with Greg’s online minions is that he must pay for his pets’ clothes and food, and to pay up for his addiction, he must get a job. This is just one of the major problems Greg Heffley and his trusty companion Rowley must encounter. Will the dynamic duo make it through Christmas?


The plot in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever”, never lacks drama, or even action, which makes the reader feel urged to flip the page. The events in this novel make the reader visualize every bout that Greg and his companion must experience. Additionally, this aspect of the book makes the reader feel almost as if they are alongside Greg and Rowley. Overall, with the amazing character developments over the series’ time period, this installment is a must read.


“Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever” is recommended for individuals who enjoy humorous novels and also to those who love to make predictions on future events. The events in which jokes are used clearly display the author’s love for comedy. However, this does not affect fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid who don’t enjoy comedic novels; this book will still attract non-comedic fans. The theme of this installment of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series is comedy/dramatic. Ultimately, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever” is a novel equipped with a great storyline, and great characters.
