“I need another star! Best in the series!! (so far) I love the narration by Lauren Fortgang.”Jennifer (a.k.a The Book Nympho) wrote this review 7 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This is a Contemporary Romance Novel. The genre always follows a template- Girl and boy meet, girl and boy like each other, they fight, stay apart for a while then realize they can't live without each other. So there are no real surprises on how the book is going to play out. There is however a really well written family dynamic that makes this book so very worth reading. Sean Kowalski has just left the army and gets recruited by Emma Shaw to play her Fiancee. Emma Shaw owns a landscaping business and just wants her Grandma to not worry about her. I really enjoy reading the Kowalski Family Series because all of the characters seem like they could be right out of your own family. I like that not everything is perfect, they make mistakes. Emma's Grandma is coming to town, normally this wouldn't be a huge deal for anyone, but Emma told her Grandma she was in a serious relationship so that Grandma wouldn't worry. As a result, Emma needs Sean to play along while Grandma is in town. It makes for some very interesting scenes. I like Grandma Shaw the most. Normally one of the main characters are my favorites but she stood out to me. She was so full of love and life. She was one smart cookie. :)
I liked the scenes with Emma and Sean spending time with his family. Watching the progression from awkward and pretending to comfortable and real. Their relationship was always interesting. Yours to Keep was an easy read. The writing was enjoyable for me. There were no parts that stood out like they didn't belong or fit. I got a little emotional towards the end of the book, but I'm a very emotional person so it's not very hard to do.
This book is part of a series and I plan on continuing because I truly love the Kowalski Family. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance centered around a family.”
“4.5, actually. This was the last book in this trilogy and it was good - just not as good as the others.”Marie T wrote this review Saturday, August 10, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Emma Shaw is in a bind. Emma's Grandmother was worried about her and thinking about moving back from Florida to take care of her. In order to put her Grandmother's worries at rest, Emma made up a fake boyfriend, using the name of a member of her best friend's family. Now Grandma Cat is coming for a month long visit and plans to meet Emma's live-in fiancee. Just home from a tour of Afghanistan, Sean Kowalski doesn't expect to open his door and find a woman asking him to pose as her fiancee. After explaining the situation, Sean thinks she just may be crazy. But with no other plans for the near future, he decides to help her out.
Emma and Sean are a great couple, two normal people in a crazy situation trying to put Grandma Cat's fears to rest. Of course, Sean's family knows that he is not engaged to Emma, but they agree to play along with the elaborate scam. But things get sticky when Emma and Sean find that not knowing the little things about each other just might unravel their whole plan.
I loved this book. At first the plot sounds crazy, but it comes off as believable. The Kowalski family is hilarious, not letting Sean off the hook with their teasing. And the romance is great. Don't miss this book. My rating: 5 Stars.
“An enjoyable story with a fun plot and a touch of humor. I liked the witty banter between the hero and heroine. The camaraderie between hero's extended family was good too. Landscaper Emma convinces Sean, who recently left the army, to pose as her fiance during her grandmothers visit.

“Yours to Keep was an incredibly fun and heartwarming read. I admit that I thought it seemed a little cliché at first with a “pretend love” theme, but I quickly fell in love with the book, and especially the Kowalski family!
The story is about Emma, who had told a white lie to her grandmother about having a fiancé so that she wouldn’t worry about her. She conveniently tells her grandmother she’s marrying Sean Kowalski, her friend’s cousin, who happens to be away in the army. Unexpectedly, Emma’s grandmother tells her she’s visiting for a month to meet the new man in her life.
Sean Kowalski had just arrived back home, after spending 12 years in the army. He just wanted to relax, when suddenly a woman he’s never met before, Emma, comes to him and begs him to pretend to be her fiancé for a month.
I loved how Sean and Emma slowly fell in love more and more, and each and every moment they spent together was great. I’m looking forward to reading more about the Kowalski family in Shannon Stacy’s other books. I’m hooked!
