I have been waiting for this book for a while. I figured Ward would have an epic tale to tell when the time came. And man did she deliver. I was so caught up in the story that I just couldn't put it down. There were so many characters I wanted to hug, and of course several others I just wanted to tell off. J.R. Ward always has the ability to make me feel happy one minute and crazy the next. Lover Reborn was no exception to the rule.

In all honesty for the final quarter of the book I was both angry and sad and down right annoyed all at once. Watching Tohr and No'One had my heart breaking piece by slow piece. It was agonising. They both had some serious things to deal with, and unfortunately they are going to brought to their lowest to figure it all out. I truly felt for them both, one minute they are hurting then the next they are hurting each other. I just wanted to reach into the book and smack them both upside the head.
Then there is John and Xhex, can things get any worse. They tore me apart. I love John, he is definitely one of my favourites. To see him and Xhex go through such a hard patch was rough. After I was done reading Lover Mine I figured it was HEA for them. But I am glad they both learn something about themselves and their relationship. They grew up a little in this book and I was happy to see it.

Now on to the Layla/Qhuinn/Blaylock/Saxton thing. Wow I totally want to kick Layla in the head. Man can't anything go right for Qhuinn and Blay. I am very annoyed at her, why oh why does she have to push and not let Qhuinn keep his decision. Hell she even used his lack of family against him, I so wanted to hurt her in that moment. How could she do that to him. I mean sure he has had it rough with all that but to use it against him to get what she wants is totally wrong. So final thought on Layla, I don't like you. I feel bad for Qhuinn, Blay and Saxton. I am left wondering what the author is going to cook up between the 4 of them in the next book.

So over all I really enjoyed this book, it was everything I was waiting for. Now I just have to hold on until the whole Qhuay happens. Or at least I hope it does! I am happy to finally see Tohr let Wellsie go and move on. Though I wish he never had to go through all of that. I loved Wellsie, it killed me to watch her die. But I am glad both he and No'One are moving on together. I was starting to wonder how it will all work out especially with what happened in the last few pages. I almost died! So needless to say this is a definite must read. Can't wait for the next one.

I cannot get enough of this series. This book did not let me down. The story line is complex and I always fall in love with the characters in the story. I'm looking forward to the next book.

    Gracie C. McKeever (c) May 2012

Now returned to the Brotherhood by the fallen angel Lassiter, Tohrment is on a mission to take out the lessers as he never has been before. He doesn't care about much of anything else, not even himself and his nights out hunting with his brothers often turn into near suicide missions. The only thing that keeps him going is the thought of wiping out the beings who took his beloved shellan from him.

Tohrment once found solace in the idea that his mate had found peace in the Fade, but it seems now that even that has been taken away from him as he's started to have dreams about Wellsie in a dreary and desolate landscape and she's growing farther and farther away from him. He approaches Lassiter to see if the angel can enlighten him about this new turn of events and instruct him how to save Wellsie. The information Lassiter shares with Tohr is not encouraging in the slightest as the angel tells him he needs to do something that Tohr doesn't feel he can ever do: learn to have feelings for another.

Meanwhile, No'One, Xhex's mother returned from the dead and her stint of punishing herself on the Other Side has her own crosses to bear with a brutal rape by a sympath behind her and her own past successful attempt at taking her life. She is sympathetic to Tohr's pain and understands his plight. The longer she stays at the Brotherhood's stronghold, the closer she becomes to the tortured brother, closer than could be wise for either of them.

Meanwhile, Wrath's throne is threatened by the unscrupulous Band of Bastards led by the conflicted Xcor and No'One's daughter Xhex's relationship with her new mate, John is threatened by the brother's unwillingness to let Xhex prove herself in the field.

Tohr's emotional struggles to let go of Wellsie and reach out to the new love that is offered to him continue and come to head as his passion for No'One grows and grows. But can he make the final plunge and declare his feelings, even if it means saving his former mate?

Another great installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, with so many old and new exciting storylines and characters I can barely keep up. But keep up I will as I eagerly looking forward to Quinn and Blay's story in the next book! Can't wait!

I enjoyed this book. I am happy for Tohr. Things are getting political with the BDB, BoB, and the glymeria..... It will be interesting to see what happens there...
