Every time I finish a Black Dagger Brotherhood book I feel completely bereft. This one was a hell of a ride; a real emotional roller coaster. Tohr has to let Wellsie his dead shellan go, or she, along with their unborn son can never pass into the Fade and be at peace. But how do you make you heart stop loving one person and start loving another.

A more than satisfying read bringing together characters we've already embraced in previous novels and giving us a tantalizing glimpse of delights to follow in Lover at Last.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood is the paranormal romance genre at its very, very best.

I loved this book, it's probably a tie with Zsadist's book for my favorite of the series. The journey that we had to witness Tohr go through to get to the end of this book was heartbreaking, but in the end we see true growth and acceptance on his part. I also loved the side story with John Matthew and Xhex. I love that couple! I'm looking forward to learning more about Quinn in the next book, as well as what happens with the BoB. This installment was complex and deep and a VERY good read.

Very long, very drawn out. I found myself not as engaged as with other books in this series. May have something to do with the fact that I didn't really like John/Xhex in their book and they are a major part of this one as well? Though I do like how some of the minor characters are being setup as potential mains in future books. We'll see!

Fun, easy read as always. Love the author's mythology. She has a glossary in the book but I wish she had a chart of who's married/partnered with whom for those of us who forget easily. LOL

I cannot say enough how much I love these guys! They are the epitome of what you want a man (or vampire) to be. And I think id rather have the latter ;-)

This book was so good yet so bad. I'm glad Torhement loved Wellsie so much, but he forgot about adopting John Matthew their adopted son. This story was so powerful, so much hate I wanted to kill the killer myself. such a touching moving story.

I honestly had a harder time reading this book than any of the others in the series. Tohrment's masochism drove me nuts throughout the whole story. I had a hard time handling what it was doing to the plot line. The ending was promising though and leaves me hopeful that the next book will have some happier endings.

Uughh. I liked very little about this book. Tohr's "romance" made me cringe. John and XHex's issues made me roll my eyes. Repetitive statements like, "dearest Scribe Virgin" made me want to scream. The only reason I kept reading this is because I didn't want to have any gaps when I read Lover at Last. I'm sticking in there for Quinn's story but that will most likely be the end of my BDB reading.
