I would give it a higher rating, but it was too short... to the point that at the end of the book, I still didn't know a whole lot about the characters.

A mother, who has two daughters one married with two children, the other single, asks them to go to the coast of Florida to spend a week with her. Unbeknownst to them she has cancer and not a long life ahead. The two girls, five years apart, don't get along well the first two days -- to busy with work, and church activities.

COMMENTS: A good premise, but lacking the depth of character, plot, and faith that would have made it a great book.

This was kind of an odd book, but it had a good story line.

I think this was an excellent book for being a short story that you could read in one sitting. CBD offerred it for $5 and I purchased several of them to have on hand to give as gifts. It was light enough reading even for people who don't read alot. Plus it had an important message. The sibiling rivaly differences were due to insecurities and people valuing accomplishments over relationships. Plus once pride got out of the way it was amazing to see how well the relationships worked. I have loaned my copy to many people including some who do not read alot. This book and another one "Two Old Women" tend to get basically non-readers interested in reading.

A short story about mothers and daughters and illness. It's about how we all get so busy and wrapped up in our lives that we take time for granted and think that people will always be there.
