Primarily responsible, along with Michael Pollan's books, for changing the way I eat and think about food. Kingsolver injects life into an admittedly dry subject. Makes me want to leave the desert and move to Appalachia too.

I really liked this book because of the questions it made me ask myself and the reasoning it introduced. HOWEVER, it's very circular, makes the same arguments over and over and goes into some details that really weren't for a casual reader like me. All in all - a good read!

If you have a hard time paying the extra money for locally grown, organic food, read this book and you'll not hesitate again!

Interesting book about Kingsolver's efforts to be a locovore.

I just love this book. Kingsolver, her husband, and two daughters commit to a year of eating off the land...anything they could grow or buy at the local farmers' market. The book is filled with humor, good thinking, and a humanity that Kingsolver always manages to bring to her writing. Outstanding!

Made me think, really enjoyed the writing and narrative, changed my ways but not as drastically as she did.

Thinking back to this book several weeks after reading it, I like it better all the time! I didn't agree with every point she made, but I thoroughly enjoyed her humor, and admire the Kingsolver family for taking on this adventure.
