  “I just love this book. Kingsolver, her husband, and two daughters commit to a year of eating off the land...anything they could grow or buy at the local farmers' market. The book is filled with humor, good thinking, and a humanity that Kingsolver always manages to bring to her writing. Outstanding!”

  “Thinking back to this book several weeks after reading it, I like it better all the time! I didn't agree with every point she made, but I thoroughly enjoyed her humor, and admire the Kingsolver family for taking on this adventure.”

  “It feeds into my fantasy of being a self-sufficient family and teaching my children about how to live healthily in harmony with nature. I loved reading about her adventures and now that I've tried a little more gardening, I marvel at what she accomplished!”
